She who became the weather

Some storms arrive from the outside. Others begin quietly within us.

She Who Became the Weather grew from the idea of a woman no longer trying to resist everything moving through her. The wind, water and restless sky are not simply surrounding her—they have become part of her.

Her upward gaze suggests a moment of surrender, but not defeat. She is allowing herself to feel the uncertainty, strength and vulnerability that exist together inside one life.

The swirling blues carry the movement of both ocean and sky. The small fish drift through this dreamlike space as symbols of memory, instinct and transformation. They move freely between what is real and what is imagined.

The white fabric around the figure offers a moment of softness amid the turbulence. It feels delicate, yet it continues to hold her—much like the quiet strength we sometimes discover only when life becomes unsettled.

I wanted the painting to feel powerful without becoming harsh. She does not conquer the storm or wait for it to pass. Instead, she becomes something larger than it.

She Who Became the Weather is an original mixed-media painting about surrender, transformation and the moment we realize that change is not only happening around us—it is reshaping who we are.
