About the Artist

Rita Irvin

Rita Irvin is a self-taught mixed-media artist and fine art printmaker based in Cocoa Beach, Florida. Raised in West Berlin and shaped by a career in interior design, she returned to painting as her primary focus — channeling memory, emotion, and transformation into surrealist works layered with symbolism.

Her paintings, built on wood panels and canvas with mixed-media techniques, draw on recurring motifs: koi moving against the current, fragmented figures, and dreamlike spaces where the familiar becomes strange. Influences include Dalí, Frida Kahlo, Georgia O'Keeffe, Magritte, Michelangelo, and Renoir.

Without formal training, Rita developed her own visual language — layered textures, surreal symbolism, and imagery shaped by her years working at the intersection of art and space. Her interior design background gives her a sharp instinct for color, composition, and how a work of art transforms a room.

Rita's work is available as original paintings and as signed, numbered limited-edition fine art prints — archival pigment on premium paper, in editions of 100. Her work has been exhibited at Art in the Park (Brooksville, FL) and is currently on view at ArtServe in Fort Lauderdale (June–August 2025).
