What Remains Still BloomsOriginal Mixed Media on Canvas
A woman with her eyes closed, a yellow moon behind her, and a violet rose opening at her chest with a line of gold running through it.
What Remains Still Blooms is a new original from 2026. The figure is built in pieces of pink, turquoise, ochre and rust, with newsprint and stenciled texture layered under the paint. Petals come loose down the right side into deep violet, and an orange butterfly rests near her shoulder. I lettered the title by hand along the lower right edge.
I made it for women I love who have faced breast cancer, and for every woman living in a body changed by survival. Healing does not erase what happened. It means carrying it and still choosing life.
At just over three feet tall it holds a wall on its own, in a bedroom, a reading corner, or at the end of a hallway. The silver floating frame leaves a thin shadow line around the canvas, so it arrives ready to hang.
