I had a stack of old maps and a mood for travel, so I built a nautical star to hold them, anchored down in red.

I kept the star's lines sharp and clean and let the maps carry the color and the wear underneath.

About the Artist
Rita Irvin is a self-taught mixed-media artist raised in West Berlin, Germany. Her paintings work through memory, emotion, and transformation, built in layered textures and imagery. Influenced by Dalí, Frida Kahlo, and Georgia O'Keeffe, Rita developed her own visual language without formal training, shaped by years in interior design and a lifelong immersion in art and architecture. Each print is a signed, numbered limited edition, printed on archival paper from an original work by the artist.
