Silent Storms
Silent Storms explores the turbulence hidden beneath a composed surface. A fragmented, mask-like face emerges from deep blue layers while koi and butterflies move through the surrounding darkness—symbols of endurance, change, and the fragile possibility of renewal.
The work began as a pencil drawing and grew through repeated layers of mixed media and gold leaf. I allowed the face, fish, and butterflies to surface gradually, creating a piece that feels both weathered and alive.
